This week I witnessed again what I claim the church to be guilty of. This kind of attitude has no place in the church. It is completely against what the Bible says. I call it religious extortion and open robbery by ministers that are in this habit.
Paul calls the church to generous giving out of a willing heart and not by false preaching that 'swindles' money from naive, gullible and malliable christians. Apparently, the purpose of giving has not been taught accurately in some churches. It seems that some churches as well as some ministers use giving as a way to make life easy for themselves and harder for the givers.
The church needs to revisit the scriptures in 2 Corinthians 8th and 9th Chapters to see what Paul really spoke about. Paul was strictly against profiting, extorting, manipulating, embezzlement and the worst of all, abuse of the word of God in terms of giving.
The bible states that we perish for lack of knowledge. Since we refuse to read and ask questions, we are most likely to be fooled and carried away by gimmicks. If you believe that you are born again and have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, then you will know that money will not give you salvation. You can listen to the rubbish called prophecy by these men of God, yet it will not give you what you need or want. Let no one tell you how much you must or need to sow to get blessings, or to leave a legacy.
What I saw and heard was very outrageous. Finally, one of the reasons some people are not being blessed in the church is due to the fact that they put their trust in these men of God instead of putting their faith in God through Jesus Christ
Remember you control your destiny and legacy. Please don't be misled! God has already left a legacy for us and our generations after us to emulate. Maybe when you stop giving out your money grudgingly to buy blessings, you can leave it for your children- that is a part of your legacy. The way you train your children is also your legacy. Giving willingly to the church, the poor, the needy and whosoever, and for a cause, is part of our legacy.
May the Lord open our eyes to the truth because it will set us free!
